Popular Twinkle Light Parade Returns to Nob Hill

Holiday Fun on Historic Route 66

ALBUQUERQUE, NM– The annual Twinkle Light Parade will make a return appearance on Central Avenue in Nob Hill on Saturday, December 5th. Planning was underway to host the parade on 4th Street this year, but after evaluating the costs associated with the location change, City officials have decided to host the event in the Nob Hill area once again. The logistics of the move to 4th Street would have more than doubled the cost of the event.

Parade organizers want to express their appreciation to the downtown and Barelas neighborhoods for their overwhelming support of the potential change, and to the Nob Hill merchants and neighbors for their continued cooperation during the City’s annual holiday parade.

The fun and exciting Twinkle Light Parade will step off at 5:15 p.m. and travel west on Central Ave. between Washington St. and Girard Blvd. Central Ave. will be closed from Washington St. to Girard Blvd. for the parade viewing. Silver Ave. will be closed from San Mateo Blvd. to Washington St. to stage the parade. Featuring floats filled with twinkling lights, custom cars, bands, dancers and much more, the parade will add to the community’s festive holiday atmosphere.

Sponsors for the 2015 Twinkle Light Parade are radio stations 99.5 Magic FM and 93.3 KOB FM.

The Twinkle Light Parade is produced by the Cultural Services Department, City of Albuquerque, Mayor Richard J. Berry.  For more information, please call 311 ( TTY Users call Relay NM or 711) or visit
